Soft Washing
Soft washing is the use of water-based, biodegradable chemicals to break down dirt and grime, remove bug nests and webs, kill mold, mildew, algae, and bacteria – leaving the surface clean and sanitized.
Soft washing uses just one-third of the water that pressure or power washing does, lasts 4 - 6 times longer, and does not deteriorate or harm the surface like pressure washing often can. Soft washing also does far more than power washing because it does more than just clean your roof. The products used in the SoftWash System don't simply clean; they penetrate, sterilize, and completely remove the root of the issue.
Treating your roof with soft washing is more like pest control – the combination of safe, eco-friendly chemicals make sure that the microbes that cause buildup are not just partly swept away, but eliminated completely.
Roof Cleaning and Beyond
Soft washing can be performed on a wide variety of surfaces where algae and bacteria grow. The same bacterium that creates black streaks on roofs can also grow on:
- Concrete
- Brick
- Tile
- Wood
- Vinyl Siding
- Aluminum
- And more…
If you're trying to find a method eliminate what's growing on the surface of your roof, deck or fence, break the cycle of bothersome power washing and use an option that can remove the issue 100%.
Eco-Friendly, Biodegradable Chemicals in SoftWash
Oftentimes, individuals are afraid of the word "chemicals," but it's actually not such a dirty word. Everything is a chemical, even water (hydrogen dioxide).
The chemicals utilized in soft washing aid in the break down of pollutants and infestations, so they can be easily washed away. They do all the work without all the pressure. Our chemicals are water based, ship non-hazardous, and are biodegradable, meaning they break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days after their introduction into the environment; leaving no contaminants behind.
4 Biggest Reasons to Choose Soft Washing
There are plenty of reasons to choose soft washing over pressure or power washing, however here are our biggest reasons:
- Substitute for pressure washing
Pressure washing creates erosion and strips away materials that might have been loosened up by decomposition or aging. It may be appropriate for some projects and not others.
- It actually treats the infestation
Your home isn't only dirty – it's infected. Regular pressure washing simply gets rid of the outer layer of this biomass and doesn't resolve the root of the problem, leaving your surface susceptible again not long after power washing is finished.
- No damage from pressure
Inadequately trained or inexperienced power washers can cause serious damage to a roof or other surfaces, especially if it's older to start with.
- More sustainable cleaning option
Power washers use from 3 to 8 gallons of water per minute (gpm). In one hour of cleaning a power washer can utilize from 180 gallons upwards to 480 gallons of water. On the other hand, soft washing only uses approximately 60 gallons of cleaning solution, which is comprised of about 40 gallons of water.
The cleaning solution is so effective that it lasts 4 – 6 times longer than pressure washing. Making it more viable for the environment and your wallet.
